Thornhill is a village in central Scotland – planned and founded at the end of the seventeenth century as an extension to Norrieston – lying on the high drier ground above the carse of Stirling along a traditional east/west route from Dunblane to Aberfoyle.  Thornhill has a population of about 650 people in some 210 houses and farms.
